Other Supplies

Marquee letter kit, Ink Pad – Burnt Umber, Round medium paintbrush, Scrapbook paper, Pencil, Scissors, Hole punch, Glitter

Instructions

  1. Un-package the marquee letter and remove the letter insert.  Using an ink pad, distress the inside edges of the letter by gliding and tapping the pad onto the letter. Next, add a messy coat of Mod Podge Antique to the inside edges of the letter.
  2. Trace the letter insert onto a bright colored piece of scrapbook paper.  Cut of the paper.  Cut a different paper to fit around the entire outside edge of the letter.
  3. Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the top of the letter insert, position the cut-out onto the insert, smooth with your fingers to remove any air bubbles.  Allow to dry.  Hole punch the spots where the lights will go. Top-coat with a layer of Mod Podge matte and lightly sprinkle glitter over the design.  Set aside to dry.
  4. Using Mod Podge Matte and working around the outer edge of the letter, Mod Podge the papers around the entire outside.  Top-coat with Mod Podge and sprinkle glitter in various places. Add antique highlights with Mod Podge Antique.  Add more distressing my rubbing the ink pad around on the edges of the letter.
  5. Place the letter insert into the letter base and attach the lights.
  • PROJECT TIP: To glitter an item with Mod Podge, paint the item with Mod Podge Gloss and sprinkle glitter all over the item. Tap off the excess glitter and allow to dry.
