Other Supplies

  • Small wooden panel
  • Transfer paper
  • pencil

instructions

  1. Basecoat frame with Ink.  Allow to dry.
  2. Using the chiseled end of the ¾”brush, make a straight line down the middle of the panel in Ink.  This will be the trunk of the tree.
  3. While holding the brush straight up and down begin pouncing lines from the trunk then outward at a downward angle. (The shape of a Christmas tree)
  4. Continue step 3 starting at the top and going all the way to the bottom of the panel.  Start small at the top and get larger at the bottom.
  5. Next repeat step 3 and 4 using the Moss and then Celery.
  6. Lastly repeat with Ivory where snow might make sense on a tree.
  7. Use the end of a paint brush to make Crimson ornaments on tree.
  8. Using the pattern provided transfer “Merry Christmas” across the tree and paint with liner brush in Ink.

Yes, you can create custom colors by mixing any number of the Waverly Inspirations Chalk paints together.
Start with the lightest color, adding in darker shades until desired color is achieved.
Do I need to prep my surface before applying Waverly Inspirations Chalk?
The benefit of painting with Waverly Inspirations Chalk is that no prep work such as sanding, stripping or priming is needed.
When painting on previously used furniture, simply clean the surface using a glass cleaner to remove dirt or dust particles. When painting on glass surfaces, make sure to clean surface using rubbing alcohol.
Do I shake or stir Waverly Inspirations Chalk before using?
Stir well to incorporate the paint. Use straight from the bottle or pour a small amount onto a palette.
