Other Supplies

Wood alphabet letter - J, Wood alphabet letter - O, Wood alphabet letter - Y, Scissors, Paintbrush, Craft glue, Brayer (optional), Wax paper (optional), Large canvas, Fabric – enough to cover the canvas

Instructions

  1. Prepare your fabric for Mod Podging to the canvas. Do this by putting the fabric down on a non-stick surface (wax paper is recommended) and painting a thin layer of Mod Podge on the top. Let dry. This will make your fabric easier to cut and Mod Podge down.
  2. Starting from the center, add a medium layer of Mod Podge Matte to the canvas. Lay down your fabric and smooth to the outer edges. I recommend starting from the center, working on one side and then the other. Make sure to add enough Mod Podge to keep the fabric attached. It’s okay if some Mod Podge comes through the fabric.
  3. Turn the canvas over and smooth from the inside to make sure that the fabric is fully adhered.
  4. While your canvas is drying, paint your letters with the FolkArt color of your choice. I painted mine with Pure Black (a dark color will show the glitter better). Let dry.
  5. Paint your letters with several coats of Mod Podge Extreme Glitter. Let dry. When you canvas is fully dry, cut and fold the fabric over the edges. Start on one side, Mod Podge down and continue all the way around the canvas until complete. Let dry.
  6. Glue your wood letters down to the top of the canvas with a strong craft glue. Let dry for 24 hours before hanging.
