Mod Podge FAQ

As I was removing the paper, the toner came off completely as I removed the paper. What went wrong?
The photocopy was unsuitable for the transfer process. Use a Canon Laser Copier for best results. Place another transfer over first one and try again. Also may need to cure longer.
Do I need to shake Mod Podge Mega Glitter before using?
No, shaking the bottle prior to use may introduce air bubbles. Although it's not typically necessary, Mod Podge Mega Glitter can be stirred before use to incorporate the product fully.
How can I use the Mod Podge Decoupage Brushes?
Load the Mod Podge Decoupage Brushes directly from the bottle or a foam plate or bowl. While working in tight surface areas, press the shorter bristles into the creases to both apply Mod Podge, as well as to adhere the paper or fabric being decoupaged.
Can my photo transfer project be washed?
For photo transfer projects using Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium (#CS15067 and #CS12652): Hard surface items can be lightly washed with a dampened paper towel using mild soap and water. Fabric project surfaces can be hand washed and line dried.

For image transfer projects using Mod Podge Clear Image Transfer Medium (#CS11215 and #CS10618): Hard surface items can be lightly washed with a dampened paper towel using mild soap and water. Note that glassware items are for decorative purposes only and cannot be washed. Do not use on fabric surfaces.
How do I keep my Mod Podge Decoupage Brushes clean?
Mod Podge and other water-based crafting products will wash out of the Mod Podge Decoupage Brushes with warm soapy water while the Mod Podge or paint is still wet.Never allow paint or Mod Podge to dry in the brush bristles. You may also use FolkArt Brush Plus to clean your Mod Podge Decoupage Brushes.
How do I use Mod Podge Puzzle Saver?
Complete puzzle. Next, place puzzle design side-up on non-cling plastic wrap. Brush a medium coat of Mod Podge Puzzle Saver over the completed puzzle and let dry. Apply a second coat and allow to dry completely.

Once the puzzle has completely dried, flip the sealed puzzle over when completely dry and position it design side down on new piece of non-cling plastic wrap. Apply a medium coat of Puzzle Saver over the back of the puzzle and let dry.
Now sealed, the puzzle can be mounted to a display surface using Mod Podge Puzzle Saver. If desired, apply a couple light applications of Mod Podge Spray Clear Acrylic Sealer to seal puzzle pieces completely and remove any stickiness due to humidity.
  • Note: Mod Podge Puzzle Saver was designed for use on commercially-printed cardboard puzzles only. It is not recommended for use on 3D puzzles, handmade wooden puzzles with transferred images, puzzles customized using personal photos, or special effect puzzles.
How long after application will Mod Podge Mega Glitter be fully cured to the project surface?
Mod Podge Mega Glitter will be fully cured to a project surface 28 days after the last application was made.
How long should Mod Podge Clear Image Transfer Medium dry after an image has been applied to a project surface?

Allow a transferred image to dry on your surface for a full 24 hours prior to moving onto the next step of wetting and removing layers of paper to expose the transferred image.

How long will it take for my Dimensional Magic project to dry?
Dimensional Magic should remain flat while wet in a warm, dry place.
It may take a couple hours (depending on thickness of application and humidity of work area) before Dimensional Magic has dried to the craft surface, however, it will take 24 hours before it has cured.
