4th of July Tablescape Utensil Holders

  • FolkArt ® Stains - Mahogany, 2 oz.#2806
  • Wood boxes: 5" square and 4 ½" x 5 ½"
  • Red white and blue scrapbook papers
  • Sandpaper
  • Scissors
  • Flat brush ½"
  • Pencil
  • Soft cloth
  • Paper towels
  • Water basin
  • Foam plates
  • Wax paper
  • Squeegee
  • Four pulley wheels
  • Glue

Instructions

  1. Apply stain to inside of boxes and wipe with soft cloth. 
  2. Lay boxes on their sides on the back side of papers and trace with pencil. Cut out pieces and trim to desired shapes as shown. 
  3. Apply Mod Podge® to box surface and place paper. Cover with wax paper and smooth excess glue with squeegee. Repeat process until boxes are covered as desired. Let dry. 
  4. Sand with sandpaper until your surfaces are distressed. 
  5. Apply several coats of matte to seal surface. 
  6. Glue pulley wheels to bottom of one box. 
Project Tip: Personalize with tags or directly onto surface with black or colored marker.
