Experiment with canvas painting while incorporating geodes in your home decor.
Instructions
- Using the 1" flat brush, apply a coat of Pearl White to the front of the canvas. Let dry.
- Place the large paper or newspapers underneath the canvas. You will be wiping excess paint off the canvas onto the paper.
- Starting at the center-top of the canvas, squeeze the Brilliant Ultramarine paint thickly down the canvas creating an irregular line of paint in a gentle curve from the top of the canvas to the bottom. Use the palette knife to spread out the paint if necessary fill in any gaps. Repeat with Turquoise and Pure Gold paints spaced out approximately 1" from each other. Add a thin line of Pearl White between the colors.
- Using the 8" edge of the cardboard, drag the cardboard down the canvas starting at the top following the curve and occasionally rocking the cardboard right and left. Drag the excess paint off the canvas.
- Using the same piece of cardboard with the left over paint still on the edge, drag the length of the canvas again tilting the cardboard to an almost flat position. Paint will be mixing and creating the geode layer look. Let dry.
- Paint a ¼" Pure Gold edge along the rock edge. Let dry.
- Paint over the geode with Mod Podge for a glossy finish. Before it completely dries, sprinkle the iridescent glitter over the white areas.
- Finally, paint the edges of the canvas with Pure Black. Let dry.
