Make your Christmas Tree pop with color when you paint a variety of ornaments with Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint! Add mandala designs, an ombre effect, brushstroke effects, and so much more with this easy craft idea.
Instructions
Brushstroke ornaments:- Remove the ornament top if possible
- Base coat ornaments solidly in white
- Choose a light and dark color for each ornament, i.e. Light and dark green
- Using a flat brush and your lighter hue, paint spaced out brush strokes in one direction.
- Go back with the darker hue and paint additional brush strokes in the same direction, filling in some of the white space.
- Remove ornament tops if possible
- Base coat each ornament in your chosen background color
- Using different sized dotting tools, create patterns radiating out from the center where possible.
- Add smaller dots within dots or contrasting edges for interest.
- Remove ornament tops, if possible
- Basecoat the ornaments in white
- Choose your color pallet for each ornament
- Create a gradient with a small flat brush by blending one color into the next
- Mix a 2:1 ratio of Apple Barrel Paint with Apple Barrel Pouring Medium in your diposable cups.
- Lay our your disposable baking tray or wax paper on your workspace to keep your work area clean.
- Lay your ornaments on tray or wax paper.
- Pour your paint and tilt and swirl the ornaments to create a marbled effect.
- Let dry overnight.
