Autumn Leaves & Pumpkins Please
With a chill in the air, it is time to stay indoors, gather your art supplies, FolkArt Acrylics and a fun laser etched wood surface and enjoy some creative time!

Other Things You'll Need

  • Waxed paper palette
  • Paper towels
  • Brush Basin for water
  • medium to fine grit sandpaper
     

Instructions

  1. Paint the entire wood frame with a coat of Vintage White and allow to dry.  Once dry, if necessary, sand smooth.
  2. To the top quarter of the frame, paint a plaid pattern.  Side load a wet No. 12 Flat brush with Yellow Ochre and paint vertical stripes somewhat evenly spaced, allow to dry.  Next  using the same brush and paint color, paint horizontal stripes.
  3. Paint the pumpkins using Pueblo, Pure Orange and Moon Yellow.
  4. The pumpkin stems, extra fern, “leaves” and “please” are all painted Thicket.
  5. Paint the acorns Burnt Umber and highlight with Vintage White.  When dry, outline the acorn shapes with thinned Licorice.
  6. The small maple leaves are painted with a combination of Pure Orange, Thicket, and Moon Yellow, outlined with thin Licorice.
  7. The words “Autumn” and “Pumpkins” are painted Pure Orange and shaded with Pueblo. 
  8. Outline all the lettering on the left side using thinned Licorice using a liner brush.
  9. Shade the outer edges and corners of the frame with Yellow Ochre.
