Be Kind Plaque, Vase, & Painted Pot
Have fun being creative with a couple of new or repurposed surfaces and along with a few colors of Apple Barrel paints to provide a pop of spring color to any area of your home!

Other Things You'll Need

  • Unfinished Wood Heart Pallet Sign
  • Jug
  • Terra Cotta Pot
  • Brush Basin or container for water
  • Paper Towels
  • Medium grit sandpaper
  • 1" Foam brush
  • Paintbrushes – 3/4" and No. 8 Flat
  • “Be Kind" stencil, stencil brush
     

Instructions

“Be Kind” Plaque Instructions
  1. Using a 1” foam brush, paint an ombre background over the heart pallet sign.  Begin with Spring Green at the top of the heart blending into Caribbean at the bottom.  Allow to dry.  Sand smooth once dry and repeat if necessary.
  2. Using a stencil of your choice, stencil a greeting, phrase, or word of your choice.  We used White to create the message.
 
Vase Instructions
  1. Using a 1” foam brush, paint the entire jug White.  Allow to dry and then reapply the base color so that it is opaque White.  Allow to dry.
  2. Once dry, load a No. 8 Flat brush with Black and paint an overall pattern of flat lines over the entire vase.  Allow to dry.
 
Terra Cotta Pot Instructions
  1. Paint the entire terra cotta pot Bright Yellow.  Let dry.  Then reapply a second coat and possibly a third coat for a bright, opaque coverage.  Let dry.
  2. Using a No. 8 Flat brush, paint stripes resembling paint drips in varying heights on approximately three quarters of the flower pot.  Paint these stripes both Spring Green and Caribbean.  Allow to dry.
