Block Christmas Trees
Download Project Design
Use leftover wood to make a forest of trees for your holiday decor! Create fun evergreen trees from wood of different heights and types to make your trees unique.

Instructions

  1. Basecoat the three blocks with Castle, Sheepskin and White Adirondack.  Allow to dry.
  2. Tranfer the pattern to blocks.  Resize tree to fit each block.
  3. Paint the trunk of the tree starting at the top of the tree all the way to the bottom of the block with Java.
  4. Dip only the end of the 3/4" flat brush into Rich Black.  Begin pouncing the black at an angle down the tree trunk to begin forming branches leaving space in between.
  5. Mix a small amount of Rich Black into the Irish to make a darker green.  Repeat step 4 with green.
  6. Repeat step 4 with just Irish.
  7. Add White Adirondack where snow might land on the tree branches.
  8. Pour some Rich Black to a plate.  Dip the flat side of layering block into paint and then remove any excess onto a paper towel.  Lightly glide the block along the block and the edges of the block to achieve distressed look.  Don't be too heavy handed.  It only takes a little to get the effect.
