Other Things You'll Need

  • 11" x 14" Stretched canvas
  • Color laser copy of profile of child
  • Pencil
  • Wax paper
  • Paper towels, Water basin

Instructions

  1. Trim color copy image of child blowing into hands. Image should measure approximately 6” high.
  2. Lay image on canvas and lightly sketch a cloud puff that starts at the hands and reaches to the upper far corner.
  3. Set image aside. Using the ¾” flat brush, paint the canvas sides and surface in Regency Blue up to the cloud puff line.
  4. Before the blue completely dries, paint the cloud puff with White and blend into the Regency Blue. Clean your brush frequently to keep from blending too much blue into the white. Let dry.
  5. Lay the child’s image face down on a piece of wax paper. Coat the back of the image in Mod Podge. Coat the canvas where you will be placing the image.
  6. Carefully release the image from the wax paper and place the image on the canvas. Smooth in place using the squeegee.
  7. Coat the image and canvas in Mod Podge. Let dry.
  8. To make the hearts, dip your fingertips in Red Apple and press on the canvas two times creating a heart shape. Scatter different size hearts over the cloud puff.
  9. Repeat step 8 with Pink Parfait and Candy Pink. Let dry.
  10. Using a small brush, paint little “v” shapes over the cloud of puff in the red and pink paints.
  11. To make clouds, dip your fingertips in White and tap repeatedly over the Regency Blue to create a cloud. Let dry.
  12. Finally, finish off your canvas by brushing on Mega Glitter over the cloud puff, inside of hands, and clouds.
