On the end of the coverlet that has the fringe, find the center of the coverlet by folding in half and creasing lightly with your finger. Open the coverlet and center the stencil on the creased line.
To create the ombre effect, visually divide the stencil into 4 sections from top of bottom. Start with Light Plum at the bottom of the stencil, followed by Magenta, then Pure Orange and ending at the top of the stencil with Lemon Custard. Use the flat brushes to lightly brush paint on and overlapping sections so that there are no hard lines. Repeat stencil as needed to reach both ends.
Randomly sew running stitch lines with black floss as shown.
