Other Things You'll Need

  • Canvas Shoes
  • Wax paper palette
  • Paper towels
  • Brush Basin
  • Purple satin ribbon for shoe strings 
  • Optional – white chalk pencil

Instructions

Preparation:
  1.  If desired, sketch a pattern onto the body of each shoe using a white chalk pencil. The shape of a candy corn is simply a triangle with three rounded corners.
 
Painting Instructions:
Candy Corn
  1.  Using a small flat brush, base in each candy corn piece with Wicker White and allow to dry. NOTE: Having each piece based in with Wicker White, will allow the colors of the candy stand out.
  2. Paint each piece of candy corn in thirds. The top third is Wicker White, the middle third is painted Pure Orange and the bottom third is painted Moon Yellow. It is best to slightly overlap to blend and soften the borders where each color meets the next color. Allow to dry.
  3. Accent the candy corn design with simple polka dots of Wicker White. Paint dots where desired to fill in the overall pattern. Allow to dry.
Finishing Instructions:
  1. Switch out the “regular” shoestrings and replace with a purple double faced satin ribbon. Enjoy!
