Candy Corn Gnome Wood Cut Out

  • Brush Basin or container for water
  • Waxed paper palette
  • Paper towels
  • Gray graphite
  • Stylus

Instructions

  1. Gnome Beard – Basecoat the entire beard shape with Classic French Gray.  Using a liner brush add hair with long, overlapping Wicker White brushstrokes.
  2. Nose – Basecoat dimensional nose with Cool Bisque.  Shade bottom on nose with Pueblo.  Highlight top of nose with Wicker White.  Add a Pink Melon blush over the lower portion of the nose.
  3. Basket – Basecoat the basket with a brush mix of Moon Yellow, Pueblo and a touch of Wicker White.  Shade the basket with Pueblo.  Using a liner brush loaded with thinned Licorice, paint zig/zag lines to define the slats of the basket.
  4. Candy Corn – Paint the top of each candy corn Wicker White.  The middle stripe of the candy is painted Pure Orange and the lower portion is painted Moon Yellow. Paint a Licorice outline around each candy shape.
  5. Pumpkin Feet – Paint the shoes as pumpkins.  Basecoat each pumpkin with Pure Orange.  Shade the pumpkins with Pueblo and highlight with Moon Yellow. Add Lime Green stems and leaves.
  6. Gnome Hands – Paint the hands the same as the nose using Cool Bisque, Pueblo and Wicker Whtie. Outline with thinned Licorice.
  7. Gnome Hat – Base alternating stripes with Violet Pansy and Licorice.  Highlight the center of each Violet Pansy stripe with Wicker White and shade the edges of each Violet Pansy stripe with Dioxazine Purple.  Paint the checkerboard stripe with Lime Green and Pure Orange.  Outline the checkerboard with thinned Licorice.  Add a couple painted daisies using Moon Yellow, Pueblo and Wicker White.  Add a couple Lime Green leaves.
