Countdown the days to Christmas with a handmade advent calendar tree. Create a tree with a chalkboard finish, to completely personalize your holiday season. Add colorful paper-painted chains for an added vibrant touch to your decor. This is a great family project that gets everyone involved.
Instructions
- Basecoat tree with Apple Barrel black and let dry.
- Sand lightly and paint with Chalkboard paint. Let dry.
- Spread colored papers on drop cloth. Add just a splash of water to Apple Barrel White paint on a paper plate. Using toothbrush, splatter papers as shown. Let dry completely.
- Repeat splattering instructions on white tissue paper using Apple Barrel Black. Let dry.
- Cut splattered paper into strips-1.5 x 8”.
- Loop and staple paper strips to create paper chain.
- Layout on tree as shown and attach with hot glue.
- Using spouncer and paper stencil, stencil numbers with Apple Barrel White. Let dry.
- Stencil numbers onto paper bags as shown. Add splattered tissue paper.
- Accent with chalkboard seasonal designs.
