Christmas Mugs
Upcycle basic white mugs with some holiday flair using FolkArt Multi-Surface! These mugs are easy to make and fun to give as a gift to all your friends who are coffee lovers.

Other Things You'll Need

  • Pencil
  • Scrap paper
  • Mug

Instructions

Snowman scene mug:
  1. Sketch out a snowman/winter woodland scene on a piece of paper.
  2. Basecoat your mug in white.
  3. Using a pencil, layout the general shapes onto your mug.
  4. Paint your scene using a variety of brushes as needed.
Poinsettia mug:
  1. Print out a reference picture of a Poinsettia.
  2. Basecoat your mug in white.
  3. Lightly sketch out your design, onto the mug, using a pencil.
  4. When planning your painting steps, start from the centre and work your way out.
  5. Paint the center of the flower using your Cool Bisque color.
  6. Create black dots in a circle pattern around the center using a dotting tool and black paint.
  7. Lightly stipple oatmeal over your black dots to create texture.
  8. Create your first layer of petals using your lighter red.
  9. Create your second layer of petals using the darker red.
  10. Paint the large leaves as your third layer using Green.
  11. Add highlights, shadow and veins where appropriate using grey and white.
