Christmas Tree on Wood Surface
By: Jessie Jennings

Other Things You'll Need

  • Toothbrush

Instructions

  1. Using a medium sized round brush, paint a tree on the wood plank. Begin by using Thicket. Start at the bottom of where the tree will be. Crate a pattern a strokes by pushing your brush down and pulling up to make a "comma stroke." Paint these brushstrokes to form the shape of a tree. See photo for reference. After the Thicket is complete, add Wicker White in the same motion on the upper areas of each row to create a snow capped effect.
  2. Use a small round brush to paint a star at the top of the tree.
  3. Mix Wicker White with a small amount of water. Dip your toothbrush into the paint mixture and rake your finger across the bristles onto the tree. This is called "fly specking." Let dry.
