Cookies for Santa Sign

Instructions

1. Using a 3/4" Flat brush, paint Vintage White over the entire wood sign.
2. Cookies –
   • Candy Cane – Paint the body Wicker White.  When dry, add Apple Red stripes.  Accent also with Classic Green Stripes between the red stripes.
   • Snowflake – Paint the body Wicker White and add snowflake lines with Cobalt Hue.
   • Gingerbread – Paint the body Yellow Ochre and then shade with Bark Brown.  Add a light blush for cheeks using a mix of Wicker White and Apple Red.  Wicker White is used to paint the icing linework.
   • Stocking – Paint the body of the boot shape Apple Red, the heel and toe are painted Classic Green and the cuff is Wicker White.  Shade the red highlight the red area with an orange mix using Moon Yellow and Apple Red.  Shade the cuff with Wicker White plus Cobalt Hue.   When dry, add Classic Green stripes on the cuff.  Lastly add Wicker White dotwork.
   • Gift Box – Paint the package Classic Green.  Paint the ribbon Wicker White and add Apple Red stripes to create a plaid pattern.
   • All cookies are trimmed with a thinned Licorice using a No. 1 Liner brush. And shaded on the outer edges lightly with Bark Brown.
3.  Letters –

• “Cookies” – Paint all letters Yellow Ochre.  Shade with Bark Brown and highlight with Yellow Ochre plus Wicker White mix.
• “for” – Paint all letters Bark Brown.
• “Santa” – Paint all letters Apple Red.  Shade with a mix of Apple Red plus Bark Brown and highlight with a mix of Apple Red plus Moon Yellow and Wicker White.
• All lettering is outlined on the left and bottom of each letter using thinned Licorice using a No. 1 Liner brush.

1. Checkerboard – The checkerboard border is painted Yellow Ochre. (Allow the basecoat of Vintage White to be the other square).  Shade the Yellow Ochre square with Bark Brown.  Outline the entire checkerboard border with thinned Barn Brown linework using a No. 1 Liner brush.
2. Corner designs – Paint the leaf shapes Classic Green and add an Apple Red berry dot.

1. Trim the outer edge of the sign with Apple Red using a No. 12 Flat brush, and enjoy!
