Add a touch of British Colonial flair with this tropical cork board design.
Instructions
- Trace the entire pattern onto tracing paper.
- Tip: When transferring the pattern to the cork, it is best to hold the traced pattern in place with a piece of tape at the top.Apply the pattern using black transfer paper.
- With Dark Foliage Green, paint the two darkest sides of the leaves using the No.12 flat.
- Paint all of the medium value green leaves Christmas Green using the No. 12 flat and paint the stems using the No. 4 flat.
- Using the No. 12 flat loaded with Light Foliage Green, paint the lighter sides of the leaves.
- Mix Light Foliage Green plus a touch of Antique White, paint the veins through the centers of the leaves using the No. 1 Script Liner brush. Next, highlight the stems using the same brush and paint mixture.
- Apply only one coat of Antique White to the center of the compass using the No. 4 flat.
- Paint the large circle Mocha Brown plus a tiny touch of Dark Foliage Green using the No. 4 flat, you just want to darken it slightly.
- Paint the dark side of each directional point and the dark side of the fleur de lis Mocha Brown using the No.1 Script Liner.
- Paint the light side of the directional points and the large circle in the center Antique Gold using the No.1 Script Liner.
- Paint the letters, the light side of the fleur de lis, the small circle and the edge of the center circle Butter Yellow using the No.1 Script Liner.
