Instructions:
- Ensure your oyster shells are thoroughly cleaned and dried. Remove any dirt or debris to ensure a smooth surface for decoupage
- Separate the layers of the floral napkins, keeping only the top printed layer. Cut out the floral designs you want to use, ensuring they are slightly larger than the surface area of the oyster shells.
- Using a soft bristle paintbrush, apply a thin, even layer of Mod Podge Multi to the inside surface of the oyster shell. Make sure to cover the entire area where you will place the napkin.
- Carefully place the cut-out floral napkin piece onto the Mod Podge-coated shell. Use tweezers if needed to position the napkin precisely. Gently press down to smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles.
- Once the napkin is in place, apply another thin layer of Mod Podge Multi over the top of the napkin. Start from the center and work your way outwards to avoid tearing the napkin. Ensure the entire napkin is covered and sealed.
- Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely. This usually takes about 15-20 minutes, but drying times may vary depending on the thickness of the layers applied.
- For added durability and a smoother finish, apply additional coats of Mod Podge Multi, allowing each coat to dry completely before applying the next. Two to three coats are typically sufficient.
- Once the final coat is dry, inspect your oyster shell for any rough edges or excess napkin. Trim any excess napkin with scissors if necessary.
- Your beautiful decoupage oyster shells are now ready to be displayed! Use them as decorative pieces, jewelry holders, or unique gifts.
