DIY Ornate Gold Stocking
Add some refined touches to your holiday decor with this gorgeous gold stocking.

Other Things You'll Need

  • White or cream-colored stocking
  • Stencil tape
  • Flat back gems
  • Scissors
  • Decorative trim
  • Paper towels, Palette, Water basin

Instructions

  1. Place the Large Damask stencil just under the cuff of the stocking. Refer to project photo for stencil placement. You may need to use scissors to trim the stencil to allow it to fit better under the cuff. Use stencil tape to hold the stencil in place.
  2. Using Antique Gold, Sterling Silver, Taupe and a ½” stencil brush, stencil the Large Damask stencil, cleaning and drying your brush between colors. Let dry.
  3. Using Sobo glue, adhere a few jewels onto the stenciled area to add some sparkle.
  4. Using scissors, cut enough decorative trim to wrap around the cuff of the stocking. Do this with several different trims—varying in pattern, color and texture—enough to cover the stocking’s cuff (see project photo for reference). Lay the trim in rows along the cuff of the stocking. Make sure you are pleased with the positioning of the trim, then use tacky glue to adhere them. Let dry.
