This money cake made from hatboxes is perfect for your DIY quinceanera decor!
Instructions
- Place the smallest box on top of the medium box and trace around the bottom onto the lid of the medium box. Repeat the same step except this time place the medium box on top of the large box.
- Measure ¼” from pencil mark inward and cut out a circle from the lid of large box. On the bottom of the medium box cut the same size circle. Repeat the same step with the lid to the medium box and the bottom of the smallest box. Cut a slit in the lid of small box for money or checks to fit.
- Cut paper to fit boxes and Mod Podge using the Matte Mod Podge.
- Once dry add a couple coats of Sparkle Mod Podge on top. Allow to dry.
- Paint the lids with Magenta. Allow to dry.
- Place pattern under the silicone mat. Cut the wire in half and place it onto the center of the feather on top of the mat. Start by covering the wire (center) of feather and follow the pattern going outward from the center. Once the feather is dry remove from mat and paint Aqua. Allow to dry. Brush Mod Podge Sparkle on feather and sprinkle aqua glitter. Once dry brush off excess. Repeat two more times. Glue the tiny pink gems to the center of feather and the make an oval of gems at the top. Cut off excess wire.
- Bend the feathers to wrap around the boxes and attach with Mod Melt.
- Add blue and pink gems around the slit at the top.
- Make a bow with the sheer pink ribbon and mold melt it to the top.
