DIY Tie Dye Stocking
Make this holiday colorful by tie-dying your stocking! Use FolkArt Multi-Surface to create a unique and personalized sock that will look great hanging on your mantel.

Other Things You'll Need

  • White Cotton T-shirt
  • Plastic squeeze bottles
  • Rubber bands
  • Scissors
  • Assorted trims
  • Stocking pattern

Instructions

  1. Print and enlarge pattern to desired size.
  2. Smooth out t-shirt and place pattern onto fabric and cut out. 
    1. Make sure to cut to pieces for front and back of stocking.
  3. Cut a strip of fabric 6 x 3”.
  4. Twist rubber bands onto fabric to create desired tie dye pattern.
  5. Mix FolkArt Multi Surface in small plastic bottles- Mix 2 parts paint to 1 part water.  SHAKE WELL.
  6. Squirt paint mixture onto fabric, saturate as desired.
  7. Cut and remove rubber bands and lay fabric to dry.
  8. Iron fabric to heat set and smooth.
  9. Using Mod Podge Fabric, fold small piece of fabric in half and glue together (finished piece will be 6x1.5”) Let dry.
  10. Brush a thin line of Mod Podge around all edges of stocking and place pieces together.  Let dry.
  11. Fold strip of fabric and glue to inside edge of stocking as shown to create loop.  Let dry.
  12. Gather several pieces of scrap fringe together and tie to embellish stocking.
