Instructions

Feather Lantern

  1. Tape off a 2" band in the center of lantern. Paint Wicker White using the Spoucer. Remove the tape. To remove easily score with a craft knife first.
  2. To make the feathers paint the stem with a Pink Melon and then dip the #2 flat brush into water and squeeze the end of the bristles with fingers to get a chiseled edge. Dip the end into the paint in paint and dab around the stem making the hairs of the feather. Add some shadow onto the hairs by repeating the same steps in Licorice.

Mason Jar Lantern

  1. Remove the lid from jar. Drill two holes in the ring of lid only.
  2. Paint the ring of lid Licorice. Allow to dry.
  3. Insert wire through the holes and the twist at holes to secure.
  4. Using the liner brush paint Licorice lines around the top of jar. Paint the sag line in between. Allow to dry.
  5. To make the small feathers, paint the stem with a color and then dip the #2 flat brush into water and squeeze the end of the bristles with fingers to get a chiseled edge. Dip the end into the paint and dab around the stem making the hairs of the feather. Go back and dip in Licorice to add some shadow to the feather. Continue with all colors.
  6. Add beads to the intersection of each Licorice line and where the feathers hang using the end of the liner brush.
  7. Highlight the strings with Wicker White using the liner brush.

Dreamcatcher Lantern

  1. Tape the pattern inside the glass lantern.
  2. Using the end of the liner brush make dots around the outside circle in Pink Melon and Aqua.
  3. Paint dots in the center following the pattern in Lime Green, Light Lavender and Wicker White. Add Baby Pink dots inside and then connect with Wicker White Lines using the liner brush. Allow to dry in between paints.
  4. To make the small feathers paint the stem with a color and then dip the #2 flat brush into water and squeeze the end of the bristles with fingers to get a chiseled edge. Dip the end into the paint and dab around the stem making the hairs of the feather. Continue with all colors.
  5. Paint the strings to the feathers and the string holding the dream catcher using the liner brush.
  6. Add addition strings. Allow to dry and then add dots in all colors using the end of the liner brush. Add the beads to the dream catcher the same way.
  7. To make the large feathers on both sides of the dream catcher repeat the process in step #4 except us the ¾" flat brush for the hairs on the feather.
