Promote Earth Day and have a great time doing it with this cute sign made with recycled newspaper.
Instructions
- Make 36 rolls with the sheets of newspaper. Start at one corner with a pencil and roll the paper around the pencil up to the opposite corner. Use a touch of hot glue to hold the corner to the paper to keep it from unrolling. Cut each roll to 12”.
- Cut two strips of cardboard from the box 2”x18”. Place the two pieces about 6” from each other and start gluing the rolls to the cardboard starting at the bottom. Cut off any excess cardboard at top with scissors.
- Cut out a 9” circle from the cardboard box. Paint it with Denim Blue. Allow to dry and then paint the green. Allow to dry and then stencil the Flag Red heart onto each. Hot glue it to the center of rolled papers.
- Stencil “EARTH DAY” on brown paper bag in Black. Take the square stencil and dry brush around the edges of the stencil.
- Cut out squares and Mod Podge to the rolled papers around the earth.
- Paint the dowel Flag Red. Allow to dry and then insert into the top roll and tie the twine around each end and hang.
