Easy Folded Paper Butterflies
Turn your finger painting projects into folded butterfly designs. Decorate your indoor space with style when you craft these fluttering butterflies with your kids. These look great in windows during the summer!

Other Things You'll Need

  • Brown craft paper
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Brown and tan chenille stems

Instructions

1.    Measure and cut four squares of craft paper. One each 7”, 6”, 5” and 4”
2.    Finger paint Laguna on 7” square, Caterpillar and Aquamarine on 6” square.
3.    Finger paint Orange on 5” square, Apricot and Pink Parfait on 4” square.
4.    When dry, accordion fold diagonally into approximately 3/8” folds.
5.    Fold accordion pieces in half and join 7” and 6” sections at the fold. Pinch together.
6.    Fold end of tan chenille stem over about 3” and wrap end around itself a few times to form head. Cut loop at top of head for antennae.
7.    Wrap rest of stem around where two folds meet and fashion body.
8.    Repeat with smaller squares and brown chenille stem.
