During the fall season, it is nice to take a moment or two to reflect upon the good things in our lives that we are thankful for. This frame says it all, enjoying meals with friends and family, playing in the fall leaves with loved ones and simply being at peace and thankful!

Other Things You'll Need

  • Waxed paper palette
  • Paper towels
  • Brush Basin for water
  • Medium to fine grit sandpaper
     

Instructions

  1. Divide the wood frame with a horizontal mark along the bottom edge of the photo opening of the wood frame.  Paint the bottom portion Licorice and allow to dry.  If needed sand smooth and reapply a second coat.
  2. The upper portion of the wood frame is painted Yellow Ochre and allow to dry.  Sand smooth and then paint with two applications of Treasure Gold – Gold.  The Yellow Ochre base will help to seal the wood and prepare the surface for the brilliant metallic gold.
  3. Paint the two maple leaves and two small oak leaves with a combination of Yellow Ochre, Pure Orange, and Thicket.  Allow to dry.  Outline the leaf shapes with thinned Licorice using a liner brush.  Add Treasure Gold veins to the leaves.
  4. The acorns are painted Burnt Umber and highlighted with Vintage White.
  5. “Eat” and “Drink” are painted Licorice.
  6. “And Be Thankful” are painted Treasure Gold – Gold.
