Fabric Decoupage Project - Parisian Throw Pillow
Add a touch of Parisian grace to your throw pillows with Mod Podge and chic photo transfers.

Instructions

  1. Decide on the book image you would like to create into a pillow. Make a color laser copy the size desired. Trim the image.
  2. Cut two pieces of fabric 1" larger than your image. Be sure your fabric is smooth and free of wrinkles.
  3. Tear two sheets of wax paper a little larger than your image. Lay beside your Silicone Craft Mat.
  4. Lay your image side facing UP on your craft mat.
  5. Squeeze a generous amount of Photo Transfer Medium onto a foam plate. In smooth strokes, apply the medium over the image. Apply a thick coat so that you cannot see the image. Cover the entire image.
  6. Carefully bend the craft mat back to release the image corner. Put your hand underneath the prepared image, lift and place (medium side UP) on a clean piece of wax paper.
  7. Carefully place a piece of fabric over the image. Gently smooth to make contact with the fabric.
  8. Flip the fabric over so the paper is upright. Lay another piece of wax paper over the prepared image. Smooth over the image with a squeegee or brayer. Be sure to press over all of the edges to ensure good contact. Let dry 24 hours.
  9. To reveal the image, press a semi-damp sponge over the image in sections and let the dampness set for 2 minutes. Then rub over the wet paper in a circular motion removing the paper. Repeat until the image is completely revealed. Let dry.
  10. Repeat rubbings may be necessary in parts where the paper is still adhered. Let dry.
  11. Square up the image fabric to have a ½" edge. Trim the backing fabric if necessary.
  12. Pin both fabric pieces together image facing inside. Sew around pillow leaving approx. 5" open.
  13. Turn pillow inside out. Fill with stuffing and whipstitch the opening closed with needle and thread.
