Create some wall art that shows off your family name.
Instructions
- Trim the papers to fit the top of the wood plaque. Tear the edges to work around the corners of the plaque. Use rectangle shapes to fill in the center.
- Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge Ultra Matte Chalk to the back of the paper, Position the paper onto the plaque. Smooth with your fingers to eliminate any air bubbles. Allow to dry for 1 hour.
- Place the letter stickers across the center of the plaque and press to secure.
- Paint over the paper and stickers with Teal paint. Work quickly and don’t use too much paint. You want a bit of the paper to show through.
- Use and sewing pin and tweezers, lift the letter stickers from the plaque. Do this while the paint is still wet.
- Allow the plaque to dry. Once dry, use sandpaper to distress the edges and a few sections of the plaque. Wipe clean with a damp paper towel.
- Top-coat with a layer of Mod Podge Ultra Matte Chalk. Once dry, attach a hook to the back and hang.
- PROJECT TIP: When working with sandpaper or sanding sponges, make sure you keep a damp paper towel around to help clean up the mess.
