Other Things You'll Need

  • 12 x 12 stretched canvas
  • 4 small plastic cups
  • 4 plastic spoons

Instructions

  1. Pouring Background- Read basic instructions on FolkArt Pouring Medium.
  2. Mix Yellow Light, Terra Cotta, Prairie Sunset and Antique Copper into individual cups with pouring medium for the background.  Stir slow and mix well.  Place canvas on protected surface and pour canvas.  LET DRY COMPLETELY BEFORE PAINTING.
  3. With a piece of white chalk, lightly apply pattern to painting as shown.  I suggest not using an exact pattern, just sketch basic shapes for placement, the center of each flower, the stems and the leaves is enough.
  4. Paint flowers as shown with very simple strokes and basic blending.  Let dry.
  5. With a dry brush and black paint, lightly ‘scrub’ around the painted flowers as shown to create a shadow and separate it from the poured background.
  6. Mix equal parts water and black paint and splatter painting as desired.
