Instructions
- Basecoat the plaque with Camel.
- Paint the inside of plaque with Wicker White. While getting closer to the edge begin dry brushing the Wicker White onto the Camel leaving about an 1-1/2" of Camel around edges. Wicker White should appear to be fading into the Camel.
- Use the scallops on the edge of the plaque as a way to measure and find the center. Tape off 1" stripes.
- Add water to the Camel to make a wash. Paint the stripes. One dry repeat in the other direction to make a plaid.
- Add Water to the Dove Gray to make a wash. Use the liner brush to paint Dove Gray in between the Camel stripes.
- Go back where vertical Camel stripes cross over the horizontal Camel stripes and make a darker Camel square. Do not water down Camel for this step.
- Trace each letter for "GO JUMP IN THE LEAVES" onto a scrap piece of paper.
- Cut out each letter and line them up onto the plaque as shown in photo. Tape them at the top of each piece of paper to hold in place.
- Line up the "G" stencil on top of the traced "G". While holding down the stencil, remove the scrap paper from beneath without moving the stencil on top.
- Stencil the "G" in Bark Brown. Continue the same step with the rest of the words.
- To get orange, mix Dafodil Yellow with Engine Red onto paper plate until the desired orange is achieved.
- Determine the size of the maple leaf and printout. Transfer the leaf pattern to the Stencil Blank. Cut out the leaf craft knife and stencil with orange mix.
- Squeeze Bark Brown onto a plate. Dip one flat side of the block into the Bark Brown. Dab on plate to remove excess. Lightly glide the wood block along the corners of the sign for distressed look. Continue on top of the sign over letters.
