Good Egg Sign

Are you a good egg? Create this simple, rustic sign to add to your Easter farmhouse decor! This sign is easy to make and fun to display and will elevate your spring decor with charm.

Other Things You'll Need

  • 3"x5"x1 ½" block of wood
  • 1/8" thick scrap piece of plywood (Optional)
  • Jigsaw
  • Transfer Paper
  • Pencil
  • 1" scrap piece of wood
  • Paper Plate
  • Paper towel

Instructions

  1.  Basecoat the top of the block with Alfalfa.
  2. Paint the sides of the block with Wicker White.
  3. Add Cameo Blush dots to the side of the block using the ½” spouncer.
  4. Cut the egg out of scrap piece of 1/8” plywood or just paint onto the block directly.
  5. Transfer the patterns onto the block and wooden egg with transfer paper.
  6. If painting the egg directly onto the wooden block, transfer everything onto the block including the egg and then paint the egg Wicker White.
  7. Transfter the egg pattern onto the white egg.
  8. Using the liner brush paint the egg design.  Refer to the photo for color placement.
  9. Paint “Good Egg” with Wicker White using the liner brush.
  10. Using the scrap wood block, distress the block and the wooden egg by dipping the block into the Raw Umber and remove excess off onto paper towel.  Slightly glide the block along the edges of the block and the egg.  Glide the block also on top and sides of the block.
  11.   Glue the egg to the front of the block.
