Marble Fabric Covered Clay Pot
Use your favorite fabrics to decorate a plain clay pot with style. Add a touch of elegance to your summertime garden projects with fun craft!

Instructions

  1. Paint the clay pot with White Adirondack. This will just prime the pot so if you use light colored fabrics the terracotta color will not show through.
  2. Make a paper template of the pot by wrapping scrap paper around the pot. Use a pencil to mark pattern lines. Add 2 inches to the top and bottom of the pattern and 1 inch to the side edge. Using the pattern as a guide, cut the fabric.
  3. Working in small sections, apply Fabric Mod Podge to the clay pot. Start with one end of the fabric and place onto the pot. Smooth the fabric with your fingers. Wind the fabric around the pot until you reach the end. Add more fabric Mod Podge as needed. Over lap the end and seal with Mod Podge.
  4. Add Mod Podge to the bottom of the pot, press the fabric edges onto the bottom. Apply Mod Podge to the inside edge of the pot. Fold the top fabric to the inside of the pot.
  5. Top-coat with Fabric Mod Podge. Allow to dry.
PROJECT TIP: Look for fabrics that have an overall pattern instead of a directional pattern for best results.
