Meet Me At The Pumpkin Patch Fall Sign
The “red truck” trend is still fast and furious in our home décor themes! And what better way to enjoy this theme, than to fill that truck with fall pumpkins? Painting this surface is so easy because the pattern is laser etched into the wood plaque!

Other Things You'll Need

  • Meet Me at the Pumpkin Patch surface
  • Waxed paper palette
  • Paper towels
  • Brush Basin for water,
  • Medium to fine grit sandpaper
  • An old toothbrush
     

Instructions

  1. Paint the entire wood plaque with a coat of Vintage White and allow to dry.  Once dry, if necessary, sand smooth.
  2. The truck is painted Apple Red and shaded with a mix of Apple Red plus a touch of Licorice to create a burgundy.  Paint the hub caps, bumper and trim to the back with a mix of Vintage White plus Licorice.  The tires are painted Licorice.  The window is painted with a light blue mix created with Vintage White plus Look at me Blue.  If desired, add a pumpkin farm sign to the side door panel.  Outline all areas of the truck with thinned Licorice.
  3. Pumpkins – all pumpkins are painted the same using Pure Orange.  Shade pumpkins with Pueblo and highlight with a mix of Pure Orange and Moon Yellow.  The pumpkin stalks are painted Thicket that is highlighted with Moon Yellow.  All sections of the pumpkins and leaves are outlined with thinned Licorice using the liner brush.
  4. “Meet Me At The” is painted Aqua using a liner brush.
  5. Both “Pumpkin” and “Patch” are painted with an Ombre effect.  Paint each letter with Aqua, then shade the bottom of each letter with Thicket.  Highlight the top of each letter with a mixture Thicket plus Moon Yellow.
  6. Accent the corners and edges of the plaque with Burnt Umber.  As an added accent, apply paint splatters to the edges and corners using thinned Burnt Umber loaded on an old toothbrush to flyspeck.
