Get inspired by beautiful florals and create a stunning gallery wall using Mod Podge! Turn your favorite scrapbook paper patterns into an eye-catching wall of beauty with this easy DIY.

Instructions

Large Canvas:
  1. Using a pencil and ruler, create a pattern on scrap paper for the triangle shapes. Use the ruler to draw a 3” line. Find the center of this line and draw a line coming down that is 4” in length. This should look like a “T.” Connect the top right and left corners of the “T” with the bottom point of the vertical line you have drawn. This should create a triangle shape. Cut this shape out using scissors.
  2. Trace the triangle shape on various patterned papers using a pencil and cut them out using scissors.
  3. Arrange the cut-out papers on the 11” x 14” canvas in a pattern. See project photo for paper placement. Note that there are open spaces left on the right and left sides of the canvas that will be painted later.
  4. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge Matte CS11305 to the backs of these papers using a flat brush and apply to the canvas. Using your fingers to smooth out the paper to make sure there is full contact with the canvas. Let dry.
  5. Tape off the open spaces of canvas on the right and left to match the triangle pattern on the rest of the canvas. Paint inside the taped areas using Craft Smart Gold and a flat brush. See project photo for shape placement. Let dry.
Medium Canvas:
  1. Using a ruler, find the center of the canvas. Do this by measuring halfway up each side and marking lightly with a pencil. Lay your ruler across the canvas matching up with these marks, and mark the center.
  2. Using the center mark as a guide, tape off a “V” shape from the top two corners to the center of the canvas. See project photo for reference.
  3. Paint inside the “V” shape using Craft Smart Gold and a flat brush. Let dry and apply more coats as needed. Remove the tape.
  4. Using scissors, cut several strips of paper that are 3” wide and long enough to stretch across the entire canvas.
  5. Place the strips of paper in a “V” shape beneath the Gold painted area. See project photo for reference.
  6. When you are satisfied with the paper placement, apply a thin, even coat of Mod Podge Matte CS11305 to the backs of the papers and apply them to the canvas. Smooth down the papers with your hands to ensure even contact with the canvas. Let dry and trim the excess paper from the edges of the canvas.

Small Canvas:
  1. Using a flat brush, basecoat the canvas with Craft Smart Gold. Let dry and apply more coats as needed.
  2. Using scissors, cut papers into 1.5” strips.
  3. Using a flat brush, apply a thin, even coat of Mod Podge Matte CS11305 to the back of the paper strips and apply them to the corner of the canvas. Smooth out the paper to make sure there is full contact. See project photo for paper placement. Let dry.
