Monogrammed Box

Instructions

  1. Remove hardware from box and sand smooth; wipe clean.
  2. Paint box bottom, outside top of box lid, and wooden oval piece Nutmeg.
  3. Paint inside of box lid, outside outer edge of lid, and letter Jamaican Sea.
  4. Cut three ½" wide strips from each sheet of paper. Cut each into strip 1½" long pieces.
  5. Cut 3¾ inch squares from each paper, 2 of each design.
  6. Decoupage the 1 1/2" strips ¼ inch apart onto bottom part of box (you will need to trim them to size once the glue dries); set aside.
  7. Decoupage the 4 squares to the top of the box; refer to photo; allow to dry.
  8. Trim excess paper from strips with craft knife.
  9. Using #1 script liner, trim box lid and wooden oval piece with dots; refer to photo.
  10. Give the entire box, wooden oval piece, and the letter a coat of Mod Podge to seal; allow to dry.
  11. Coat top part of letter with Mod Podge and pour glitter over the letter. Shake off excess glitter; allow to dry.
  12. Using hot glue, glue the letter to oval piece and then the oval piece to the center top of box.
  13. Replace hardware.
