Take a plain, white table and turn it into something special with the addition of floral appliques.
Instructions
- You’ll want to choose a fabric that has a design that you can easily cut out. My body pillow cover had a floral design in it that was perfectly sized for a small table.
- Prepare the fabric by washing and drying. Cut the pillow cover so that it is one single layer of fabric (as opposed to double thickness) and place on a non-stick surface (wax paper is recommended).
- Paint a thin layer of Mod Podge over the fabric, covering several of the designs, and let dry.
- Trim out at least three designs from the fabric. Set aside.
- Sand the top of your tabletop (if required) and wipe away dust with the tack cloth.
- Decide on your design for your fabric. See the image for a suggestion. I slightly layered the flowers that I cut out.
- Mod Podge the design down to the tabletop. Let dry for 15 – 20 minutes.
- Put a coat of Mod Podge over the entire top of the table and let dry. Put a second coat on a let dry.
- To make the table waterproof, you’ll need to coat the top with a clear waterproof sealer (this is optional).
