Baskets woven with strips of paper and painted with FolkArt Acylic Paints. Used for storing art supplies and plants.

Instructions

1. Cut out long strips from the paper bag in the length you want of your basket
2. Weave together pieces in the center, creating a base for your basket
3. Fold up all the edges to create the walls, as a sort of warp
4. Use the rest of the strips you cut and folded to weave through the walls, acting as your weft
5. To start off each new row and create firm corners, either hot glue or staple to the base strips.
6. To create the checkerboard-look or multi-color baskets, paint your base strips one color and paint the extra strips a second color. As you weave the checkerboard pattern will form.
7. Once you have woven to your desired height or run out of paper, fold over the top edges and glue to create a smooth top.
