Redi LeadPeel up a strip of leading and follow along the pattern design be careful not to pull or stretch the leading strips.
After all lines of the design have been covered with Redi Lead strips use the Liquid Lead to “spot solder” all joints. Apply a spot of Liquid Leading, using the metal tip pen, to a joint and lightly “smoosh” down using the tip of the metal combing tool. Allow to cure for 8 hours before painting.
Applying Window Color to Project
Window Color is applied directly from the bottle, squeeze the bottle and slide the tip of the bottle around the inside perimeter of the leaded section, then fill in the center. Apply generously, but no higher than the top of the leading.
Combing
Combing is recommended for Gallery Glass colors to create smooth even texture and color. Using a back and forth combing technique in each section not only helps eliminate unwanted bubbles it smoothes and blends the paint. Make sure to comb paint up to the edges and slightly up onto the leading to eliminate small, unpainted areas called “light holes". Allow to dry until color are transparent.
Storage: Do not allow paper or other such materials to touch the project; they will stick. Place the ornament in a heavy weight plastic bag. Put a hole through the top of the bag and hang on a wire hanger or a wooden dowel rod.
