  • 1-inch brush

Instructions

Use brush that will accommodate space being painted (i.e. use a liner brush for lines, a flat brush along a straight edge and large area, etc.). When painting on fabric, paint small sections at a time so that background color is moist for shading (S) and highlighting (H).

Colors are given for color of entire area as basecoat/background. Shading and highlighting colors are listed for each area.

Apply basecoat/background color and then apply shading color. With a different brush, soften to blend colors together so no harsh line is visible. Do the same for highlighting. Shading is done on left side and highlighting on the right side.

Stylist is used for dip-dots (dip tip into puddle of paint and apply dot to surface).

Fold under 3-inches and stitch or glue in place. This will be the “pocket” for the flag pole to slip into.

With each application of paint, be sure to add fabric medium (1 part fabric medium to 4 parts paint). This will allow the paint to go onto the surface with more ease.
