Instructions

Oyster Shells
  1. Remove the extra plies from the napkin.
  2. Using a small flat brush, apply an even coat of Mod Podge to the inside of the oyster shell. Apply a piece of napkin onto the shell, using your fingers to gently smooth the napkin into place. Let dry.
  3. Once the oyster shell is dry, use scissors to gently remove the excess napkin from the edges.
  4. Using a small brush, paint a decorative edge around the oyster shell in a color that coordinates with the napking. Let dry and seal with a final coat of Mod Podge.
Overhead Beach Painting
  1. Using a flat brush, paint the entire canvas with a sand color. Let dry.
  2. Using a small flat brush, paint the bottom right of the canvas with a medium aqua color. Stop in the middle, creating a diagonal line through the center of the canvas. See project photo for reference.
  3. Use other shades of blue to create wavy lines on the aqua area to create an ocean wave effect. Let dry.
  4. Use multiple colors and a small brush to paint details on the beach like towels, umbrellas and people. See project photo for reference. Let dry.
Birdhouse Windchime
  1. Drill one hole at the top of birdhouse and five holes at the bottom.
  2. Cut the 12” dowels in half and drill holes in one end of all four pieces.
  3. Draw waves on the birdhouse as shown in photo.
  4. Waterdown Ink Spot and Jamaican Sea to give a water color effect.
  5. Paint the sky and the waves on birdhouse.  Refer to photo for color placement.
  6. Ombre the ends of the dowels that have the holes in them. 
  7. Paint white wavy lines on top of the waves on birdhouse.
  8. Add blue twine at the top of birdhouse for hanging.
  9. Feed the string through the holes at the bottom of the birdhouse and then through the dowels.  Tie a knot at both ends of the string to secure.
