Thankful Banner with Stenciled Window
Welcome your Thanksgiving dinner guests with a beautiful banner announcing the reason for the season. This easy upcycled window DIY is a great way to reclaim, recreate, and relove something old with flair this fall.

Other Things You'll Need

  • Old window
  • Burlap
  • String
  • Stencil brush ¼"
  • Flat brush ½"
  • Sandpaper
  • Candle/wax stick
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Water basin
  • Paper towels
  • Foam plates

Instructions

  1. Basecoat frame with Pure Black. Let dry. Rub candle or wax stick over surface.
  2. Apply Spanish Moss over Pure Black and let dry. Sand lightly for a weathered appearance.
  3. Lightly dry brush Metallic Gold over window in random places.
  4. Clean window panes with rubbing alcohol.
  5. Stencil Baroque image onto each pane with Sheepskin.
  6. Cut banner pieces from burlap.
  7. Stencil letters onto burlap using Pure Black.
  8. Fold top edges of banner pieces over and glue to string.
  9. Glue banner to top edge of window.
