Other Things You'll Need

  • Paper napkins with tropical pattern
  • Scrapbook paper with pattern
  • 16" x 20" Stretched canvas
  • Assorted tropical succulents
  • Hot glue
  • Stencil tape

Instructions

  1. Cut out tropical leaves from paper napkins and carefully separate all layers so that you are only using the top layer.
  2. Basecoat entire canvas with Wicker White and let dry.
  3. Using large flat brush and a dry brush technique, paint the background as shown with Wicker White and Driftwood. Let dry.
  4. Cut scrapbook paper into 8x10 piece. Make a 1” fold on each side making the front piece now measure 6” x 10”.
  5. Apply hot glue to the 1” folds and glue onto canvas as shown creating a small curve in the paper for the vase.
  6. Apply Mod Podge to the canvas in the areas that you want to add the tropical napkin designs.
  7. Place the napkins onto the wet Mod Podge and lightly press down. Arrange as desired and let dry.
  8. Cut a small slit into canvas about 1” below the inside top of paper vase. Insert floral stems and arrange as desired.
  9. Secure stems on back of canvas with hot glue.
