Give a basic filing cabinet some flair with this beautiful floral upcycled piece for your office space. This project is sure to add charm and style to your daily work routine.

Other Things You'll Need

  • Thrifted filing cabinet
  • Laminated wood used for furniture
  • ¼" plywood
  • Wood glue
  • Cup
  • Scissors
  • 6" wooden legs

Instructions

  1. Build a box that fits around the cabinet using the laminated wood.
  2. Make the backing for the box out of the ¼” plywood.
  3. Add wooden legs.
  4. Remove all the hardware from the filing cabinet and set them aside.
  5. In the cup mix Nautical with Black to make a deep navy. 
  6. Basecoat the box and the filing cabinet with the navy.
  7. Cut flowers from the scrapbook paper and Mod Podge them onto the front of drawers and cabinet.  Refer to the photo for placement.
  8. Paint the hardware with the Treasure Gold.
  9. Add hardware back to the filing cabinet.
  10. Seal the entire piece Mod Podge Hardcoat.
