Upcycled OUI Jars

Other Things You'll Need

  • Scissors
  • Paper napkin with floral, butterfly designs
  • Pressed flowers
  • Embroidery floss and small trim in desired colors

Instructions

Small Floral Vase with Napkins
  1. Cut designs from napkins and make sure to separate all the plys.  You will only use 1 ply with the printed design.
  2. Wash, dry and remove the labels from the jar.
  3. Basecoat with colors listed and let dry between coats.
  4. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to jars and place napkin designs onto wet Mod Podge, lightly press down.
  5. Cover jar with patterns and let dry completely.
Candle Votive with Pressed Flowers
  1.  Wash, dry and remove the labels from the jar.
  2. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to jars and place pressed flowers onto wet Mod Podge, lightly press down.
  3. Cover jar with flowers and let dry completely.
Desk Jars with Embroidery floss and trim
  1. Wash, dry and remove the labels from the jar.
  2. Apply a thick coat of Mod Podge to jar, starting at the bottom section first. 
  3. Place the end of your first color of embroidery floss into the wet Mod Podge and then wrap the jar as shown to create a stripe with the first color.
  4. Apply more Mod Podge and continue wrapping the jar as shown with desired colors.
  5. Apply Mod Podge to the top rim of jar and add desired trim.  Let dry complete and add a topcoat of Mod Podge to embroidery thread areas.  Let dry.
