Vintage Inspired Stiffy Angels
Beautiful angels from draped fabric that can be displayed year after year.

  • FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Graffiti Pink
  • 2 oz. #2504
  • 2 Styrofoam cones – 2 7/8" x 5 7/8"
  • White chenille bump stem
  • Silver and gold tinsel chenille stems
  • Pink and aqua sheer cotton fabric – approximately 11" squares
  • 2 2" wood ball knobs
  • 4 ½" round wood beads
  • 2 1 ¼" flat wood discs
  • ¼" stencil brush
  • ¼" flat brush
  • White stiffened felt
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Transfer paper
  • Plastic wrap

Instructions

  1. Wrap cones with plastic wrap and place on top of plastic wrap sheet. Dip fabric in Stiffy, center over top of cone and drape over sides. Let dry thoroughly.
  2. Apply eyes and mouths to wood ball knobs using opposite end of brushes. Apply cheeks using very dry stencil brush.
  3. Cut chenille bump stem into four sections. Glue wooden beads to ends as shown, leaving at least ¼” sticking out.
  4. Create wreaths from gold and silver chenille stems.
  5. Paint wood discs Buttercup and Dove Gray. Then paint with metallics and apply glitter paint when dry. Glue to tops of heads as shown.
  6. Transfer wing pattern to white felt. Cut out and apply Hologram glitter. Bend in half when dry.
  7. Carefully remove Styrofoam cones from stiffened fabric. Glue arms to sides of bodies and when dry, wrap ends sticking out of wood beads around wreaths and glue.
  8. Glue heads to tops and wings to back of angels.
