Instructions
Watery background technique
- Pour a small amount of Pink and Light Purple onto a palette.
- Add water to dilute the Pink using the medium brush and paint loosely on the paper letting water pool in areas.
- Add drops of water with your paint brush if necessary to lighten the color.
- Repeat the same process with the Light Purple overlapping the Pink slightly. Let dry.
Defined shape background technique
- Pour a small amount of Ultramarine and Sap Green onto a palette.
- Dilute the Ultramarine into a light wash using the medium brush and paint a circle starting on the outside working in adding water to the brush as you go. Let dry.
- Dilute the Sap Green slightly and paint land shapes over the painted circle.
- Add water to your brush as you go. Let dry.
Lettering
- Lightly sketch in pencil a word or saying on top of a dried watercolor background.
- Pour a small amount of Black onto a palette.
- Using the small brush dip into water and dilute the paint.
- Vary the letters by changing the widths with brush pressure and shade of colors with water amount to paint.
