Instructions

  1. Paint the base of the pumpkins with Celery.
  2. Paint bottom left pumpkin with Plaster with a Moss stem, middle pumpkin with Ink with a Moss stem and bottom right pumpkin with Moss with a Ink stem.
  3. Paint the sides of the back pumpkin with Celery and the stems Ink and Plaster as shown in photo.
  4. Coat the back of the fabric with the Mod Podge Matte. Allow it to dry.
  5.  Trace the back of the two large pumpkins onto a piece of paper and then transfer to the back of the two fabrics coated with Mod Podge.
  6. Cut out pumpkin shapes from fabric and decoupage to the front of the pumpkins with Mod Podge.
  7. On the Plaster pumpkin draw diagonal lines from top left side of the pumpkin to the bottom right side.  Repeat on the other side of the pumpkin to create a diamond pattern.
  8. Made short, small brushstrokes with Moss going from the left to the right over the lines drawn.
  9. In the center of each diamond shape repeat with the same brushstrokes but this time make them into a diamond shape by making a small brushstroke at the top of the diamond and gradually get bigger while going downward. Once the widest point has been reached begin to make the brushstrokes smaller. Leave about a 3/8” space between the diamond and the Moss colored lines.
  10. On the Ink painted pumpkin hand paint “hello fall” in Plaster using the liner brush.  Make the lines on the pumpkin with Plaster as well.
  11. On the last pumpkin painted Moss apply strips of tape going across the pumpkin about ¾” apart. Repeat the same step going from top to bottom.
  12. Using the stencil brush paint the small squares Ink.  Remove the tape.
  13. On the palette mix a small amount of water with the Ink paint so that when it is brushed out it is very transparent.
  14. Using the #6 flat brush connect the square with the watered down paint. Watch this video for reference on how to paint the buffalo plaid.  https://youtu.be/HF8hwVsMtjE
  15. Add a highlight and shade to the pumpkin stems using the Plaster and Ink.
