White Wash Painted Memory Board
Transform an old frame into a vintage style message board.

Instructions

1.Thin the Warm White paint with a little water.  Dip the paintbrush into the paint and tap off the excess.  Working quickly, paint the frame.  Make sure you leave areas where the paint is thick and thin to achieve the antique look.

2. Trim the foam-core board to fit inside the frame.  Trim batting to fit the foam-core board.  Glue batting to the foam-core board.

3. Lay the fabric (print side down) flat on your work surface. Trim the fabric so that it is larger than the foam-core board. 2” extra all the way around should be enough.

4. On the backside, add a drop of hot glue to each corner and pull back the corner of the fabric.  Press into the hot glue. (Wear Hot Glue Gun Helper finger caps so you don’t burn your fingers)  Add a strip of hot glue down the side edges and fold back the fabric into the hot glue.  Make sure your fabric is taut.

5. Measure and cut the twill tape into 6 pieces.  You will need to add an extra few inches for wrapping around to the back. Two pieces will be long and four will be shorter.  The longer pieces will go across the entire board (corner to corner) and the short pieces will wrap around the corner areas.  Using hot glue and using the photo as a guide, hot glue the ends of the ribbons to the back of the board.  Add a drop of hot glue where the ribbons meet to secure it to the base of the board.  Glue a decorative button where the ribbons cross for a little pop.

6. Position the board into the frame.  Add hot glue to secure.  Use strips of Duct tape to secure the board to the frame.

PROJECT TIP: Use vintage pins instead of buttons for a little extra bling.
