Wooden Joy Hanging Pendant
A holiday DIY that turns wooden pendants into joyful decor!

Other Things You'll Need

  • Drill
  • Various Craft Papers (I used a weathered green, black and white buffalo plaid, and a wood plank print)
  • Twine
  • Scissors or a Craft Knife
  • Large letter stencils
  • Pencil
  • Straight edge ruler
  • Optional: Sand Paper, ½ inch Circle Stencil

Instructions

  1. Optional: Lightly sand your wood surfaces.
  2. Basecoat your wooden surface in Berry Red. Allow to dry and repeat.
  3. Cut your green paper into (3) 5 inch x 1.5 inch pieces.
  4. Cut (6) ½ inch circles out of your wooden plank paper. I used a fat marker cap to trace my circles.
  5. Using a letter stencil and a pencil, trace the “J”, “O” and “Y” onto your buffalo plaid paper. Carefully cut the letters out.
  6. Use a brush to apply Mod Podge to the back of each paper piece and glue them to your surface according to the project photos. Allow to fully dry.
  7. Using a drill, create holes in the center of each wooden plank circle.
  8. Lace your twine through the holes leaving length at each end.
  9. Hang and enjoy!
